   Going to try my hand at smoking salmon tomorrow. If I can find some clean cedar lying around I hear it's good to cook on a plank. Never tried. I've grilled salmon but never a smoke and I've never included cedar.

     The old fisherman who would to take me fishing for salmon used cherry wood. For decades he smoked crappies and salmon using cherry wood.
