@adamierymenko@itsOasus To be honest I think the focus on art is a manifestation of the "can't see the wood for the trees" problem common in engineering - it is implicitly assumed that because art involves words or pictures then it consists of nothing more than generation of words or pictures (Hooray! The software is putting words in coherent sentences! I have clearly built something that will shortly put Stephen King out of a job...?!)
In reality, though, the medium is not the message :)
@itsOasus It’s super weird because there would be far more money in automating say office work or the tedious parts of programming or long haul trucking. Instead we get AI bursting on the scene to tackle art. The fact that art is already underpaid means there’s less money in replacing it. Something is wrong when even basic capitalist motives should be aiming this stuff somewhere else. Makes no sense.
