     @birdulon @WashedOutGundamPilot I managed to get leverage to stay at my current job by threatening to quit (was working 5 days night shift).
     
     I got a shift change with hours that weren't well into the night complete with a night drive home. It was so taxing for so many reasons imo. Imagine having to do your shopping at Walgreens and the truck stop because nobody is open past midnight anymore.

     Very few people do frankly. Who was the CEO of Boeing in 1973? I'm sure he was/is a very accomplished individual, I'm sure you could figure that information out, I'm sure you probably didn't know it off the top of your head. Does it really matter in the end? Not to me personally, so I don't see it as a compelling argument. Probably what's driving the return to religion in certain sections of online communities, at least the fraction thats genuine and not performative.

     and no one actually cares about him as a real man who lived, many people like his plays, but many more hate them because they were forced to read/listen to them in school.... and in the end does it even matter?

     @bonifartius A fren had that last xmas. His parents were effusive in their praise of the indians grifting the gov to get minority loans to buy multiple gas stations, in the same meal they then shat on one of the relatives because he was taking gov money for some investment thing. The guy called out the double standards and it got quite contentious when the boomers yelled at him for being ‘racist’

     @WashedOutGundamPilot i got hate from boomer relatives for this, but i think taking government money is in a sense just like exploiting a ressource in a free market. if it fits your lifestyle, it would be stupid to not do this. it's what the banks do when they exploit loopholes put there by corrupt politicians, why shouldn't the common man use every resource open to him?
     
     avoiding taxes and draining government money is big brain if you put your time into worthwhile efforts, like you've said.

     the common german either is too proud to take government money and rather works a total shit job. or just fails at filling out the paperwork for the various governmental programs which are always about 15 pages legalese forms plus various attachments. luckily if one doesn't speak the language of the forms, most (state subsidized) social organizations have some offer to help people getting the maximum amount of money :clownworld:
