EVs will count less towards mileage credits. -
teknomunk (teknomunk@apogee.polaris-1.work)'s status on Thursday, 13-Apr-2023 01:46:21 JST teknomunk @NitroDubs @okuu @Shlomo Sounds like this is related. After stipping tax credits it looks like a bunch of new regulations are in the pipe that only affect non-electrics and do so in a way to massively increase cost (though I haven't found what the actual regulation changes are).
Done by executive fiat, bypassing the legislature, by a president that half the country thinks stole the election. I'm sure it will be real popular. -

But it should have (badoptniks@poa.st)'s status on Thursday, 13-Apr-2023 03:33:22 JST But it should have @NitroDubs @okuu @WashedOutGundamPilot @teknomunk @Shlomo Have a bunch of cars now all with engines that have been in production 15 plus years and are easy to wrench and source parts. Even between 100-200k miles they'll be serviceable for at least the next 10 years the way we drive and maintain them. None were more than 15k and all are really nice.
Nissan drivers not going to make it. -

But we will have to see what that future looks like.
I’m not worrying either way. I’ve probably bought my last new car, with or without this order. I’m not paying $35,000 for a car that should be $25,000 or paying $50,000+ for a poverty level truck. -

Probably.
But if the choices are $7.5k for an engine overhaul with that core charge or $70k for a new EV with a battery pack that will last 5 years if babied (with no new ICE cars being sold), I know what I'm chosing.Woggy's Zeonic Frolicks likes this.
