The PS Portal is only owned by 4-5% of PS5 owners, which means at around 71 million console sales, it's under 3 mil sales (that's with updated numbers from end of January 2025). :awoo_what10: Education isn't a strong suit of PS5 owners, is it?
     Switch 2 competition aspect at least has basis, but this guy's saying the PS Portal is somehow beating both with worse sales than either?

     @Ronnie21093 @Kyonko802 @teto My favorite part of this thing's life was when, on launch, someone figured out how to get it running emulators for android. Then reported it to Sony so nobody else could ever do so. :cirno_laugh: This guy fucking destroyed the only possible use case you could justify for the tablet because of "due diligence."
     I respect his other hacks, he's an utter maniac for genuinely getting the Vita to run impossible ports and basically powering the system's hacking scene alone, but this was such a silly decision. I'm aware Sony would've eventually patched it, but at least let a few people enjoy it.

     @Ronnie21093 @Kyonko802 @teto Proprietary android tablet made by Sony that can only run the PS Remote Play app to connect to a PS5 and nothing else. It costs $200 and the only "benefit" for that price over using a normal phone is that it's got a Dualshock 5 strapped to both sides (something you could easily rectify with a phone mount and a normal Dualshock 5). It doesn't do a damn thing without the PS5 by the way, so you need the whole mess of a PS5 to go with it.

     @Kyonko802 @teto Also fun fact I learned looking this up: all the sales numbers for the PS Portal are basically coming from holiday sale prices. Sales numbers only started to pick up in the last couple of months, and a lot of people seemingly started to find them at prices under $200 by that point. :flan_smug2: Before these holiday sales, the sales numbers weren't all that good, not even 3% of PS5 owners.
