     @fluffy @Paultron I hate it. I get liking food but it’s beyond that for many, if not the majority of the americans I know and work with. THey LIVE for food, it’s the universal vice. Everything they do revolves around it. Any experience, any pleasure they can possibly enjoy has to be accompanied by more food.

     They wake up and eat a big breakfast-themed meal, then start hovering around your shoulder asking what you wanna get for lunch 2 hours later. If you end up going with them, you have a 3-hour lunch break before coming back to find half your day gone, followed by “hey you wanna grab dinner?“

     I often get entrapped with this cycle if we’re on the road, because I’m the assigned meal buddy for the coworkers and they always like having me around for fun, but damn it’s all just a waste of time. Let me grab some handy, moderately unhealthy goyslop and go facetime my girlfriend instead of watching you all drink and talk about your ex wives as you bump up against your 10,000 kcal/day eating goal

     If you think this looks delicious you need to eat better food, guys. This is like, medium level street shitter stuff. It’s not out and out disgusting but it’s far from good. Good food haunts you. You’ll think about it years after the fact wishing you could get more.

     @fluffy @Paultron @WashedOutGundamPilot They frequently do. Urban bugmen and boomer gluttons often claim the need to bring them in so that they can have their "authentic cuisine". The recipes exist, we don't need them here. But they're to selfish to learn to cook for themselves.

     @fluffy @Paultron @WashedOutGundamPilot For far too many it's the only real source of enjoyment in their lives, one that isn't being actively attacked by the powers that be for several reasons (IE the argument that immigrants bring good food over with them, an argument used to flood the country with Somalians and other undesirables).

     @wgiwf @fluffy @Paultron The whole “brown people make AUTHENTIC food” shit is hilarious. The reason they think whitey can’t make it is that sane people blanche at the nasty shit they do. A white cook will look at the recipe and think “damn, if I do this then each spoonful will contain a full 3 gram dose of crisco! That’s insanely unhealthy, nasty!“ and try to make something in the same vein, but less heinous.

     If you show them exactly what goes into the nasty “real” food they love eating, they’d get grossed out

     I guess I did like this one bus line’s corn bread, it was pretty rustic and old fashioned
