   @damon Why would I ever support jannies and the worst aspects of the Fediverse (e.g., #fediblock). How about Mastodon does us all a favor and mass migrate to BlueSky already?

     @adiz @damon @david increasingly i think nostr is a good option for "scream in to void" style network, with xmpp and delta chat being better "now that i know who my friends are" networks
     
     nostr ends up doing a lot of what zot did. if you integrated optional custodial keys in the relays, it basically would be zot. :neocat_woozy:

     @icedquinn Nostr is kind of a trash network devoid of content (so much of the content is stuff imported in from the Fediverse via bridges or bots/spam). Interesting concept, it was, but mostly dead (on arrival, even). I know nothing of Zot nor Delta Chat, but XMPP is super comf. @damon @david

     transphobia - they dislike white trans women like eris etc
     misgendering - when david @ tech.lgbt was misgendered
     deadnaming - eris was deadnamed
     racism - someone who was clearly on the TBS side of things said if you look white but are black, then you don't get discriminated against by police, implying that they are not black enough to be discriminated against

     Yes, we brought Zot features to ActivityPub. Streams now supports both Zot and ActivityPub nomadic identity. Forte, the next project in this chain of forks, is rumored to be ActivityPub-only.

     @icedquinn From what I understand, ActivityPub does, actually, have some level of protocol-level support for things like nomadic or immutable identities and migration therein. I believe that @silverpill and others are working on implementations therein. @damon @david

     @adiz @damon @david anything PKI is doomed from the get go. people really aren't compatible with it. that's why i mention custodial relays.
     
     zot is like fedi but while every user has an identity in the form of a pki key, the home server manages it. you can migrate to another home server (and keep a backup even, with a takeover code) and it works.
     
     its not like fedi where you can't just up an go somewhere else without a huge amount of bother
