@verita84@victor@xue@Godcast@SuperLutheran Bro, read James 2:14-26 on the relationship between faith and works. There's a lot of legitimate criticism of the Catholic Church, but Sola Fides and Sola Scriptura are incompatible.
1. A complete and whole-hearted detachment from all sin of any kind, even venial sin 2. Making a valid sacramental confession 3. Receiving Holy Communion in the state of grace 4. Praying for the intentions of the Pope.
@verita84@victor@xue@Godcast@SuperLutheran Faith and works are both necessary. Faith without works is dead. Works without faith is vanity. "Faith alone" is what gives us faggots who in every single respect live like Reddit atheists but talk a lot about Jesus expecting to be saved.
Yes he’s saying that through faith, you will do good works. It’s clear. Works just for works is buying your way into heaven. Your faith will make you do good works for Christ
@ArdainianRight@verita84@victor@xue@Godcast Lutherans have confessed that faith produces works for 500 years. We were writing against the antinomians (what you're *actually* railing against) from the start. Sola Fide is not to blame for people living sinful lives - people teaching mutated versions of it is one of the causes but not the doctrine itself.
