Talking to my mom about housing unaffordability and she is slam dunking every boomer talking point flawlessly.
>younger people should save all their money instead of spending it all
>we had immigrants buying houses when I was young too
>do you really need a mansion, we all lived in small starter homes
>I happen to know a young couple that owns a house so your statistics make no sense
>A house, wife, AND kids? Maybe young people should be happy settling for just a couple of those goals- † top dog :pedomustdie: likes this.

@parker If they still have a soul, your parents will see a picture of a fresh bullet hole in your affordable "starter" home and figure it out when you say "mom I'm not moving, you have any idea how expensive everything is!? At least I can afford this. Besides, I've been collecting phone books to block out the entryway...."

@parker Call their bluff, buy a house in the "affordable" part of time and they'll constantly croon and whine about how dangerous it is. Dad goes from "you're so spoiled, you kids, where did we go wrong? There are affordable houses" to
"son please, you need to get the hell out of there, we hate it. Your mom says every time she talks to you there's sirens, gunshots, you got a hole in the wall that time!"
I've now seen this a few times, the kids underestimate the danger, laugh about the fact they're living like they're inside the wire at fallujah with a gun in arm's reach, and their parents develop an ulcer

>affordable part of town
Sir, this is Canada. Even absolutely gutted buildings in the hood are hundreds of thousands of Canadian Dollars -
