We had a good idea of how infections spread and what they did but we are learning, every year, more about how to stop them and how they work. Hell the flexner report was 110 years ago, and we *still* haven't removed homeopathic quackery from pharmacies, and people who don't believe in viruses are still using the courts to push their BS on the rest of us - there are still people, in positions of power, who think that praying to jesus is a way to end a pandemic -

the long story short is that covid is endemic at this point (in her exact terms, "covid is over") and there is no point in further controls, resources now are going to a post-mortem of the initial crisis and analysis of mistakes being made to improve compliance. many many papers are getting written on the psychology of quarantines and vaccine campaigns. thank you friend -
