@ooignignoktoo i suppose it will end up just being an additional tax. there's no way to get tariffs to a level that would completely replace the income tax (which just shows how much is being taken away from workers already) -

@lain @ooignignoktoo You would need 75% tariffs on all imports, at current levels. Although, massive spending cuts would help lower that number. Of course, a 75% import tax would lower the amount of imports making the needed percentage higher. -

@FreeinTX @ooignignoktoo yeah, I don’t think many Americans think “let’s make all import costs double” is a good strategy to make America great again -

@lain @ooignignoktoo Personally, I'd pay double for all imports to avoid having to file and pay income taxes. Triple, even. But, you're right. Not likely gonna happen. LS likes this.
