     @lain oh, also they basically dubbed anime and sold it as OVA's, and it was ALWAYS made by ONE dude that made ALL the voices. One of those recently received english subs, it's the trash mecha anime "Starzinger" that famously was dubbed by one person and sold on VHS (i have some of them)

     @xian @lain we had that in the usa in the 80s too, one guy imported most stuff, named carl macek, then hacked up the video and changed the stories

     @sun @lain ah, that reminds me of the "Robotech" release that i heard the US got. It's SDF Macross, SDC Southern Cross and Genesis Climber MOSPEADA hacked together to 85 episodes.
