@yujiri It's complicated but the #1 reason I don't consider myself a furry is because I think the vast majority of anthro is gross. I mostly only like artstyles like kemono and similar artstyles, and it's extremely rare for any of the "western style" anthro art to appeal to me.

I'm also really into the Digimon/Pokemon and similar Japanese "early 00s/late 90s anime" look, older cartoons kinda but I like a style closer to what I mentioned. That's my kind of art and it hits the spot and I feel not a lot of furries do it.

@PhenomX6 @yujiri Yeah. Way too much furry art feels like they just draw an animal head on a regular human then give them neon skin colors - not fur colors, because it seems like half the furries nowadays can't draw fur, or don't seem to realize fur and skin should have different textures. I want to see humanoid animals, not humans with animal heads.
I also like more feral designs, especially with pokemon, and I feel like the vast majority of pokemon artists ruin their designs by attempting to anthropomorphize them. Even already anthro style designs like Lopunny and Gardevoir get ruined by this trend, because people will just draw a human with one of their heads, completely ignoring any of their actual design or proportions. Even the rare time an artist doesn't ruin their designs like this, they usually insist on slapping boobs on them for no reason, which also detracts from their designs.

I like to have a shorter way to describe the latter: they are incapable of drawing these characters on model; period. Especially when it comes to less conventional body types and paws it really shows.
