     @itsfoss I have to use Untis and I haven’t found a real solution, so I’m dual booting most of the time.

     @itsfoss I don't often use windows only programs, but when I do, wine is the solution.

     @itsfoss mostly gaming and using proton for it.

     I only use Win for Simens Step 7. I wish Siemens would support linux as well.

     @itsfoss Fortunately, the app that I use has a Google extension version. So I use it as a Brave extension. It is decent although some features are missing in this version.

     @itsfoss Some eBooks still have DRM baked into it, so I use Adobe Digital Edition with wine to download them, before I use a Calibre plugin to never need to use ADE for these ebooks again.
     Feeling like a criminal that I want to be able to read my ebooks on Linux with the EPUB reader of my choice...

     Also, some smaller special interest tools on GutHub are programmes in C# with Windows in mind. Mono usually does an excellent job for me.

     @itsfoss I play a few games, and use one or two apps that don't have native Linux versions. The games are on steam, so proton. The apps, I use web versions.

     @itsfoss I need the "KFX output" plug-in (calibre) to convert epubs for my Kindle ereader. Unfortunately, it'll run well only with the "Kindle previewer" software installed (only .EXE). ➡️Wine did the job well. No big deal here...

     @itsfoss As a community game translator (in training), I have to use some engine-specific modding tools. Many of them don’t have a native version: even though the tools themselves are often Free Software, they often depend on the proprietary unportable .NET UI. There are also some small useful tools like bmfont, for which I couldn’t find a native replacement. So I use Wine with Winetricks for managing prefixes and installing non-native dependencies.

     I also use Lutris and Steam Proton for games, but for modding I prefer just plain Wine.

     Fun fact: I’m about to release a Linux-only game translation! The modding tool that I’m using (non-native) currently supports only that game engine version which used in the Linux version.
