     @TrevorGoodchild @graf the SAA collapse seems very similar to the Iraqi Army’s collapse in ‘03, when you had large units basically getting bribed not to fight (bet you the same thing happened here). Through in the usual Arab corruption and military ineptitude and it was game over.
     
     If there’s any silver linings here, it’s that Tehran/Moscow could definitely turn Syria into another Afghanistan/Iraq, preventing it from becoming a Zog puppet like Jordan. And Russia is now more likely go all the way in Ukraine, inshallah.
     
     Not gonna lie, still a big L, pour one out for the Lion. At least he avoided the Gaddafi ending

     I was on active duty not too long ago. It's going to crash and burn in the end. This gigantic military will go the way of the dinosaurs.

     @TrevorGoodchild @DW2 GAETO's greatest strength is supporting malcontents in causing destruction and mayhem; the biggest downside being that they cause instability, never stability.
     
     The biggest win is for Erdogan's defacto expansion of Turkey into Syria. Evidently he's already turned his army, and the terrorist auxiliaries against the Kurds.
     
     Even if Damascus falls, and Russia/Iran pull everything out, Syria will be an open sore for years to come. It has blowback written all over it.

     @pepsi_man @DW2 @TrevorGoodchild The military's reputation is in shambles after Afghanistan - the graveyard of empires. I talk to people that are still in and they're telling me that it's all falling apart and morale is low.
