     @Jens_Rasmussen @okuu We need authority capable of identifying and addressing moral issues. If 12-year-olds are marinating their brains in the most degenerate fetish porn imaginable, there should be a competent authority to uphold social morals. They don't have to be heavyhanded, and I'd prefer them not to be in most cases, but the idea that the state can't have any role whatsoever in promoting social morality is false, and is employed in bad faith by those who use the power of the state to actively promote vice.

     @fluoride @Jens_Rasmussen @okuu The counterargument is that the internet is such a big part of society that they need to learn to navigate it. Unfortunately there's not really a good way for kids to do so without being exposed to massive amounts of shit they're too young to handle. It's either shitty flash mobile games and similar distractions or it's sink-or-swim in the global sewer.
