how i wake up knowing my favorite games will rot and die without ever having a shred of competition

@kilostere What is your game? :intj_stare:
-
@Immahnoob
it's a lot of games, so many offer entirely unique experiences you just cant get elsewhere (though a lot of them dont need competition)
destiny specifically grinds my gears, because i hate it, i hate that i love it, i hate that both games are such massive missed opportunities, and i hate that it's the only game that scratches such an itch in my brain that i dont regret the thousands of hours ive tossed into it
i havent played since pantheon i dont care to open it
but a desire swells in my head and i lack an outlet to satisfy it

@kilostere @Immahnoob destiny?
i have no experience with it but some people have said warframe can scratch that itch and that game isn't as sheit :zt_think:
-
@rlier23 @Immahnoob
warframe isnt bad its just different, not really my thing though :popuko_nod:
-
@kilostere @Immahnoob must be a special kind of tism since it's another looter shooter in space but eh what do i know.
-
@rlier23 @Immahnoob
one is to the other like terraria is to minecraft, or something, i suppose
i may be tistic

@kilostere @rlier23 @Immahnoob they are pretty different. Warframe is a bit more fast paced, and it focus more on quickly doing simpler missions with up to 4 players. There aren't raids that require organizing and communicating with a bunch of people like in Destiny, for instance.
Overall, despite being another looter shooter in space, Warframe is way less sweaty tryhard.
People like it because it's fun and stress-free to play, and the developers are really nice guys who are very engaged with the community and try their hardest to avoid any kind of predatory practice, and when they inadvertently do something that may be predatory or just shitty for the players they revert it.
For instance, there is the anecdotal case of when they first released the Kubrows (the doggo companion you can breed) they came in random colors, but you could breed them again as many times you wanted (which incurred a cost) to try new colors. Note that the breeding to get new colors was not the original intent, the breeding was to get new varieties, but you could also breed to get the same variety again and again with a different color. Then, they noticed that a random sperg bred Kubrows 200 times in a single day to try and get the color pattern he wanted. So they removed the system, refunded the premium currency people spent on it, and released it again, with the option for you to simply pick the color you want for your Kubrow without needing to breed it again.
The latest thing that happened was the release of the Heirloom Skins. They released Heirloom Skins for two characters, which were special skins super cool and all that, and it was a limited event that would happen just once, who got it got it, who didn't was never going to get it again. They sold a lot, because of FOMO, but the community complained because, frankly, FOMO sucks. DE listened, and although they would not bring back the first Heirloom Skins to avoid screwing the ones who bought it because of the exclusivity, they said that the ones that would be released from then on would be permanently in the store. And they did it, the Ember Heirloom Skin was released months ago, and it's still available. They still sold a lot, because the skin is awesome, and everyone is happy. I mean, I missed the first skins because I was in a hiatus, and if they had done the Ember one as a limited event, I'd probably have missed it too.
So, yeah, despite being similar, they are pretty different games, both in pacing and also the fact Bungie hates Destiny's playerbase while DE are cool with the Warframe community.

@kilostere @Immahnoob @rlier23 that being said, however, I can understand people who get frustrated with Warframe or "can't get into it" due to "lack of endgame content". Warframe is the game where you grind for the grind, there is no pinnacle super hard endgame raid that requires months of preparation and organization with your guild to tackle. Destiny does a bit better in that regard, AFAIK.
-
@Suzu @Immahnoob @kilostere honestly i just play warframe because i like how a lot of the guns feel
-
@Suzu @Immahnoob @rlier23
destiny endgame is great, raids and dungeons are real fun :popuko_nod:
i feel like people oversell their difficulty
the first raid was literally just simon says and it blew peoples minds 10 years ago
:suinema_1::suinema_2::suinema_3:
:suinema_4::suinema_5::suinema_6:
though it took day 1 raid teams like 8 hours to just to figure out how to rotate paracausal apples in their mind in salvations edge (only a single team actually managed to complete the day 1, within 24hrs, lol)
-
@kilostere @Immahnoob @rlier23 well, in Path of Exile, Maven is the pinnacle uber boss that everyone is afraid of, and her battle is basically Simon Says.
It seems gamers aren't that good in memorizing simple patterns.
-
@Suzu @kilostere @Immahnoob all the brainpower is going to minmaxing not hearing what the boss is saying lmao
-
@Suzu @Immahnoob @rlier23
raid encounter success rate is always the same, for new raiders its cause theyre still figuring out what to do, for seasoned raiders its because theyre too busy fucking around or playing chicken with the mechanics :jahy_uwu:

@kilostere gmgm

Real. I got godslayer and then left. Death to bungie and piss be upon luke smith.
-
@BasedLord @Immahnoob
"RoN is the easiest raid" goblins have been real quiet since the pantheon
twas fun but id rather never have to teach legit riven to randos for 14 hours again
-
Pantheon filtered the retards really hard. I was doing carries in it for fun. SE also filtered people hard and I just stopped caring.
