Okay NOW I know why people bitch about wifi on linux. Plug and play distros it's no issue at all but if you're installing from scratch it's sure an adventure :kekw:
- :awoo_tired: shotgun snuggler :clownpiece_smug: likes this.

@WandererUber it was definitely interesting but I got all the required stuff set up with hyprland. Now I just need to work on quality of life stuff and other bells and whistles
-
@Kyonko802 tbh I have wifi issues on linux mint (for babies) and resume from suspend doesn't work properly either. I wanted to use a distro which needed more configuration (if I'm gonna have to do that anyway) but the iso I tried shipped with muted audio and the Fn keys not working 💀 I ran out of time before getting to the point where I could have tested wifi on that one
-
@WandererUber nah audio works out of the box, just gotta install it unlike other ready to go distros
-
@Kyonko802 >hyprland
that looks cool I'll give it a try on my lab machine when I have the time. Did you mean to say you had to configure key bindings and audio yourself too?
>wlan0 naming convention enjoyer
based. It's not like it wasn't working generally but I have weird intermittent connectivity issues where my speeds and packet loss don't match where I am and I can't figure out why.
-
@WandererUber I had zero issues with mint and popOS so you and I have had very different experiences lol
-
@Kyonko802 neat. I wouldn't mind doing that at all. I think I'll reinstall with such a distro soon, when I have the time. I can't really afford to have the machine down right now to figure it out but I reckon I'm gonna need to do that sometime soon anyway because the "ready to go" ones fuck me over constantly.

yeah, that's "ready to go" alright :weary_yell:
