   Yeah supermarkets and such for example waste tons of food for exactly that reason

     Capitalism cannot abide reason in the supply chain. You'll always have more of everything than anyone needs or can buy in order to maximize a sale potential so I guess what I'm saying is
     
     Check the supermarket for discount turkey today.
