   I’ve had it with the pornographic spam and pedoposting from Nostr relays. Nostr is, and will forever be, incapable of stemming this issue due to the trivial nature of decentralized account creation not gatekept by email registration.

   Email registration sucks, but this sucks more.

   Later this evening I will be blocking more Nostr relays.

     How do you feel about white listing relays? I suppose that defeats the purpose of decentralization, but if it's being abused so flippantly, having a request system to add to white lists would limit that abuse.

     @Meachamus_Prime @cbrooklyn112 I think I'm going to limit/mute the most popular open relays and handle the rest on a case-by-case basis.

     That said, this the second time this has happened, and my patience with nostr as a whole is sorely being tested. If I have to do this a third time I'm going to import a list of all known nostr relays with more than 100 accounts and block them all.

     @cbrooklyn112 I don't know what relays are paid vs ones that aren't, but if you have a list available I'll take it under consideration.

     @cbrooklyn112 last time it was just ~~one~~ a few relays, now they’re using Nostr the way it was meant to be and have turned a sufficient number of relays into pornographic/pedophilic spam. I’m resolving this systemic issue at the root.

     I have a very, very high tolerance to bullshit and I just can’t take it anymore.

     Sorry bitcoin & Gleason bros, but this was an easily foreseeable and shit idea, and now you will suffer the consequences of your own poor design.
