   Update on the NZ ship that crashed into Samoa: It was human error.
   
   They turned the autopilot on and forgot it was on.
   
   They were trying to course correct and the ship wasn't responding (because it's on autopilot) so they panicked and kept mashing the controls FOR 12 MINUTES while it ground over and over on the reef until they finally became stranded.
