Your refusal to understand the feedback loop propagates the feedback loop.
1. Someone complains about graf.
2. graf has answered that complaint at least a dozen times.
3. "GRAF YOUR DECISION TO OPERATE A WEBSITE MEANS THAT YOU OWE PEOPLE THAT DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE AN EXPLANATION"
4. graf declines to respond to the complaint.
5. "HE MUST BE HIDING SOMETHING! THIS IS THE ONLY REASON HE WOULD NOT ANSWER THESE INTERMINABLE QUESTIONS!"
6. GOTO 1

That does not explain what agreement you made with graf that graf has failed to honor.

I wonder what makes graf impatient with people like this.
I have, repeatedly, asked what it is that graf did *before* arriving on fedi that had everyone's panties in a bunch, because the anti-graf brigade was already at it when I met him. No one has answered. I am forced to conclude that you're all feds. Thank you.-

The dance looks to me like I keep saying "I don't know about that and I wasn't there but he's a friend and he's always been reasonable with me" and a bunch of people are running around losing their shit at the statement.

That's the feedback loop. Anything graf has to say about anything, someone with a library of "I hate graf" screenshots has something to say about it. If most of your interactions with people you don't know are like that, then you'll start to get suspicious of people you don't know. When I first started running FSE, I'd wake up and someone had signed up and I'd think that was cool; when the pedos arrived, I started getting nervous when someone arrived, and then punchy.
So you see this thread: it is very short but it is full of screenshots of all of graf's terrible wrongdoings, there was the hack that leaked all the chats. I am friends with a lot of people on fedi that other people hate, but this is the only guy whose name cannot be mentioned without people popping out to post screenshots. graf discussions are about half-way to the level of the Loli Question and they won't stop.
So, given all that, I can understand if the guy sees someone complaining at him and thinks "Oh, shit, here we go again." -

He could have just explained what he meant instead of getting mad at me, but he frequently gets mad at me when I disagree with him, because he is quick to assume people have a problem with him, so whatever. -
