@Hoss There was a time when this wasn't as absurd a claim as you'd think. Bill Clinton DLC Democrats genuinely did support policies that would be considered "far right" in Europe, like being pro-death penalty, supporting other tough on crime policies, as well as favoring a way less bloated welfare state. Back when pro-war policies were considered "far-right", Democrats of course qualified for that too (even Obama was never anti-war, even as he was bragging about opposing the Iraq debacle he was calling for escalating the Afghan war). Furthermore, even 2008 Obama pretended to oppose gay marriage, and he was one of the more progressive Democrats at the time.
However, Democrats have always been extreme-left by European standards on issues like abortion and immigration, and nowadays they're of course Cultural Marxist lunatics when it comes to social policy. On economics they're all over the place, floating pretty extreme state interventions and regulations while simultaneously being in bed with big business.

"Y'know, Democrats would be considered far right in le enlightened Yurop" is probably one of the dumbest things plebbitors say that they genuinely believe.
