Spingebill (spingebill@poa.st)'s status on Friday, 22-Nov-2024 04:19:15 JST Spingebill @butterdog Game Design is a special major for a special group of people. As you'd expect it's picked by people who see it and think "ooh fun bideo game," it's difficult compared to other "useless" majors, and the payoff at the end is being stuck in the world's worst STEM-adjacent industry. Every game design major in the club is either a stoner or a BreadTube watcher.
Also, the people actually interested in gamedev are all either CompSci or Engineering majorsxianc78 likes this. -

A lot of CompSci degrees in many universities are too narrow, and it's difficult to get a job after college with a CS degree alone, unless you have connections or a portfolio of projects under your belt. It's a good idea to have specialized knowledge in a certain field (gamedev, webdev, automation, AI, etc), unless you want to be an IT worker with a CS degree.
