@MischievousTomato@mikuphile@GayHateAlliance How can one *not* weep at the calamity this once great country has come to? Fortunately, there are actionable remedies for this, and most of them can work from the bottom up which is a necessity given the top-down strangulation and gridlock inherent to the Anglo-American consensus ideology.
@MischievousTomato its your money do whatever you want i donated to kde when i was a linuxhead but theyre a bunch of shitlibs, i think they all signed that thing to cancel richard stallman
@MischievousTomato i used gnome for a bit and after some modifications its pretty good but i certainly wouldnt want to give the devs money so they can buy more dragon dildos and thigh highs
@GayHateAlliance i use it vanilla these days, but, I wanna support what I enjoy especially if its foss/oss/linux-related. As for what they spend it on, idrc, as long as the thing keeps being supported.
@MischievousTomato@mikuphile@GayHateAlliance The current status quo punishes auto enthusiasts too, you know. About the only people it actually materially benefits are government and industry planners who want an interchangeable mass of disposable lemmings who take hour long commutes to and from work in their "SUVs" and "light trucks" while spending their precious time on earth away from the workplace being totally invested in $CURRENT_THING and failing to hold down marriages and families so that they have an excuse to import third world labor for pennies on the dollar in order to keep their ponzi scheme from completely collapsing in on itself.
@netdoll@mikuphile@GayHateAlliance im.a racing game enthusiast and thus car enthusiast that wont really work. some stuff needs to be improved but i dont have grandiose dreams for that, i know very little if anything T all meaningful will be done
@netdoll@MischievousTomato@mikuphile@GayHateAlliance mostly mpg/carb rules. The reason minivans came and went is because of them, so now all the cars are just raised "crossovers" that aren't rugged enough for off-road use, have less space than a minivan or even a wagon, and that normies are conditioned into buying.
I told a normie at work to buy a minivan, they cost less used and have more space.
@MischievousTomato@mikuphile@GayHateAlliance The appeal of them is entirely astroturfed by big automakers preying on American safety fears in order to skirt crash safety and emissions regulations.
@PhenomX6@MischievousTomato@mikuphile@GayHateAlliance Genuinely crossovers scare me because I never know what's going on with them, with regular cars, I can at least get a sense of things because it's low enough to the ground to actually give useful feedback. Also every accident I've ever been in involved a crossover.
