   @crunklord420 do you currently use xmpp? I have a weird problem where I use it on phone+pc with omemo and the phone cannot retrieve the history from the server, saying that the omemo decryption failed. I talked with the server admin as well, he has no clue other than that he also has this problem. I am using Conversations on phone and Gajim on PC.

     @Saxophone3784 I do and I don't know. I assume/guess there's some E2EE device encryption handoff where if you lose access to a device and login via a new device you'll never get that handoff. I have never looked into it that much because chat history in an E2EE environment is always gonna be a bit flaky from my experience (Matrix is even worse about this).

     @Saxophone3784 because XMPP lacks the very important feature of server-side multimedia chat history ala discord. XMPP is more of a direct IM application, at least that's how I use it.
     
     Additionally I see lesser value in hosting an XMPP server for Kiwi Farms because it's not really a "community" growing thing. There's tons of XMPP servers to pick from and it's meaningless which one you pick.
