I did just talk to a boomer who passed up a pretty hefty, insane offer to buy his land because “I have to ask my kids what they wanna do with it”. They wanna turn it into an amazon warehouse or suburbs, but his first instinct was “well I’m just the guy who bought it, it’s family land now”
Also another one, I guess GenX, was talking to me about how they included another family in their estate planning, because their friends have a litter of cute white kids but no extended family to rely on. They want to help foster their success as a surrogate pair of grandparents, in a way.
So that’s TWO good boomer interactions in the span of a week or so
