Most of these benefits come from exercising and eating better. I think they're linking their better habits and accomplishments to one single monolith of not fapping anymore.

@sun @djsumdog @maxmustermann I think SOME people need it. I just think it's funny how dogmatic people get about it. I stopped looking at live action stuff because of how corrupt the industry is, but I still have plenty of hentai. I've never had an issue with it getting in the way of my life.
The people who need nofap are chronic. We have someone like that in the jail I work with right now and we have to keep him separate from everyone else because he literally cannot stop himself from jacking it.

@maxmustermann @Kyonko802 @djsumdog some people on here get super defensive about nofap, i get being skeptical it's going to fix your life though

@djsumdog @Kyonko802 The real argument against fapping is that is basically a substance dependency (namely Dopamine). That's it.

Also concerning these subcultures...
> There’s publicity the other way: sexual dysfunction scares, loss of motivation, preferring virtual porn to real girls, YourBrainOnPorn.com and various internet subcultures, but these movements don’t actually stop people from using. Logically speaking they should, but the simple fact is they don’t. Even the health risks listed from peer-reviewed studies on YourBrainOnPorn.com aren’t enough to stop an adolescent from starting.
> Ironically, the most powerful force in this confusion is the user themselves. It’s a fallacy that users are weakwilled or physically weak people. You have to be physically strong in order to cope with an addiction after you know it exists. Perhaps the most painful aspect is that they place themselves as unsuccessful losers and insufferable introverts. It’s likely that a friend could be more interesting in person if they hadn’t put themselves down for seeking self-pleasure.
