is there a cheap and widely available version of this? https://www.coolgear.com/product/usb-c-usb-b-power-delivery-adapter-wmounting-kit
use case:
—power a USB-C PD device at >5V
—and access it as a USB device over the same USB-C port

@mntmn Whats the use case there? I would just use a USB PD supply. No active parts needed other than a second USB-C port
@yeswap but does this supply the host with PD or the (other) USB-C device?
@mntmn Some USB-C hubs support PD. See https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerExpand-Ethernet-Delivery-MacBook/dp/B08C9HZ5YT
@timonsku so i had a barrel jack, but replaced it with a simple usb-c pd input. now i thought, it would be nice to have debug uarts available on that same port. but then it can't be charged at the same time because it needs >5V to charge. so one would need a usb host with >5V, i.e. a USB-C host with PD source.
@janamarie @timonsku lol this looks like what i want?!
@timonsku @mntmn you mean like this ^^ https://github.com/Jana-Marie/PD-Injector not sure if the USB 3.0 lanes work though, they might be flipped, USB2.0 + PD works great
@mntmn maybe https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-husb238-usb-type-c-power-delivery-breakout/pinouts ?
Has the D+/D- broken out. 🤷 Can 3D print a case (design linked off that page I believe.)
@mntmn
Perhaps look for C hubs or docking units (fancy hubs) that advertise they support charging. I have a monitor that does what you want but not so portable.
