     it's a shame the management simulation video game genre is basically dead, and now all we have is lackluster indie titles that aren't as cool as 2d sprites

     @m0xEE @Owl @Tactical 640x400, not 480. That was the pc98 main resolution and a selectable one on the Fujitsu fm towns.
     
     It's sprite look came from that and 16 out of 4096 colors.

     640x480 was somewhat of a high definition. 320x200 was the resolution most played original Quake at. Because no one had performant enough CPU to afford more, hardware 3D acceleration wasn't yet a thing :marsey3d:
     And no one even considered that pixel art 😂
