   Great example of this “former fighter jock boomer” archetype.

   These guys are like, 80% of the sorta cool, but stuck in the past guys I work with. They used to get amped to blow up russkies in the waning days of the cold war, and now they’re still freaking out over chinese balloons in between cheerleading POWERFUL GROUNDBREAKING women

   It’s all very gay and cringe, they’re so, SO pumped at the idea of helping a lady become a jet pilot without realizing it’s not 1968 anymore, and they’ve been run through the military system for like, 30 years straight. They’re not remarkable for being women, they aren’t blowing away misogyny, they’re just signing on the dotted line and getting special attention from OTHER old guys who haven’t realized it’s no longer rare or impressive to simultaneously fly and be female.

     Seems like an alright guy, just….behind the times. I don’t hate these guys, they tend to be pretty good people, it just grates when you have to be the passive soundboard hour after hour while they give you their run downs of how 2023 is actually in so many respects just a lightly reskinned 1970.

     They love the idea of fighting the chinese, up until you float the idea of banning ALL foreign students and 1st generation chinese immigrants from the defense industry because that’s “RACIST”. They love obsessing over the china balloon while saying “humint is a different thing, the FBI takes care of that!”.

     I just have extended weariness because I deal with it so much

The only one that would really need a lot of work to sell it is the bottom left one (I'd commission an artist to draw a chinese dragon attacking a plane like a snake. Crop her out and blow up her image with the drawing in the bottom right with a muted background. Thinking red or yellow as the first thing I'd test). Like bottom right could easily hit 500k if he used a picture of a woman that looked far more distressed and blew up the explosion in the background to catch the eye more.

AFIK he says a good, smart creator will aim for more fertile ground more than youtube. He used to get a lot of work when adsense was giving retarded kids $10k/month, he’d offer consulting and give the most obvious advice

     Same kind of guys, civilian variant: all about the girl-power for their daughters or granddaughters, can't understand why the hell junior won't "man up," or that no one is interested in their over-achieving girl power sweetheart.
     
     At some level I wonder if it's just that a lot of these boomer guys were spoiled as fuck with a demographic that had an overbalance of women. They could afford to have sluts, girl-power tokens, and tradwives, and the question of patterns or consequences never occurred to them..... and still doesn't.

     1. Almost all of us can only use the language that we are given to describe the world around us, and further, the vast majority of people are incapable of conceptualizing a theoretical world independent of the models provided by others (and that's okay)
     
     2. The ideas we consume - in church, on tha TeeVee, via radio, podcasts, streams, video, vidya, conversation, reading, journaling, etc. - are usually consumed uncritically, which is worsened by the manner by which they are consumed. Logic is rarely involved. "Memetic triage," as the Judge once put it, is critical, because...
     
     3. Beliefs and attitudes which are portrayed as "high status" are typically incorporated into our world view, whether consciously or not, and whether or not we consider then a part of our beliefs or ideology (the latter is fake, gay). As humans are social creatures who typically crave community and position on the social hierarchy (yes, there are exceptions), relating an idea to status is probably the easiest way to bypass reason and critical thinking
     
     4. The surest sign of the midwit is an individual whose "beliefs" are untethered from the outcomes they claim to desire. That said, the only way for us to evaluate an idea and to determine whether or not we believe it is to relate it to the outcomes we ourselves desire. If we cannot understand the ramifications of an idea - the outcomes resulting from incorporation of the idea into our reality - we will never be able to understand it or connect it to real world results
     
     Example 1: "I'm not a racist - each person should be judged as an individual"
     
     Example 2: "My daughter is off to college. Her goal is a career in finance. Gee, I sure want grandkids"
     
     Examples 1 and 2 are observations by people who consider themselves "conservatives." They have never parsed the word they self-apply and in fact wouldn't know how to parse a word
