     @textovervideo @lascapi @gajim yes, they can have a subscription model. This should be stated during signup. You can find an overview here: https://providers.xmpp.net/overview/ or use filters provided on the main page.

     Thank you for the link. ☺️

     I checked in Gajim 1.9.5 how the providers are displayed.

     I see the name and the country of the providers.
     And when one is selected I see also the "level" ?!?!

     For a #UX perspective it's nice but frustrating to have so few informations to make a choice.
     What do you think?

     The lastest release of Gajim brings integration with XMPP providers. The project offers a curated list of XMPP providers, which makes it easy for you to find a suitable provider. All properties of the included providers are automatically checked on a daily basis and updated if needed. When creating a new account with Gajim, you will now be offered suggestions taken from this curated list.
