     @Dicer no one with a brain thinks it is, but for girls who are super invested in zog ideology, it's like a circuit breaker. They're on the precipice of happiness, betraying everything they were indoctrinated against.

     Cutting off their guy is putting that happy life on the sacrificial alter. It reinforces her commitment to the feminist dogma, and serves to prove her devotion to the cause to others.

     I saw someone talk about how they abort babies instead of adoption because it removes the choice, the guilt forever. It's a good insight, because they do like to make the harsh, permanent choice like that: There's no chance to ever turn back, they're locked into that course of action, no freedom to ever reverse it
