     I wouldn't even play a PS2 today. PS2 emulation is well established, and allows you to upscale to modern resolutions with few drawbacks.

     Oh, and you can fast forward through the load screens.

     Ultimate spider man wasn't playable last I checked at least.

     @Iffine @RichardJohnson it was listed as playable too when I tried it, unless they fixed it for real this time.
     the game crashed every 10/20mins or so before you could get access to any save points, rendering it unbeatable.

     @Meemoo Yeah over here the market for games has been devastated by price speculators and "collectors" looking to get the most bang for their buck. Using Amazon is a bad example though since Amazon isn't actually a reseller market, so the only people on there who do try to resell are scalpers. Can easily find fully functional consoles with extras on ebay and other reseller markets for under $100.
     You mostly see this digitally, but all of these inflated prices are from retards who really think they're going to be at the top of the speculative price market for an overly produced product. It causes a snowball effect of others seeing the inflated price, and assuming they can get that much out of theirs. A good much more recent example with no nostalgia excuse tied to it is the PS Vita, a system that barely anyone cared for and barely anyone wants to buy. Listings usually start at $130, and get more and more expensive from there. Thing is, you can find thousands of these things being listed at any given time and barely any of them are selling. The price never dips though since "it has to be worth something, I paid a lot for it," or "the collectors will eat this up regardless of price." Never mind this speculative market being unsustainable, and many of these people will die before they get all the sales they're looking for.

They've been proven to never give real ratings, often just slapping a sticker on and calling it a day so a collector can jerk off to his cardboard box inside of some plastic that he'll never play. Some assholes even do this with prototypes or absurdly rare games with no ROM out there, grade it and never play it so they can be superior while acting like a supreme asshole to everyone who does want to play it. They'll then sell the game later for tens of thousands and act like they're doing the community "a service."
     I partially also blame Limited Run Games, a company that ""helps indies publish their games physically for archival by giving them a limited run release."" Really they're now scam artists, asking indie devs to only print 10000 copies of their game so half of them can be sold to their "devoted partner" ebay resellers who are already prepared to price hike by a couple hundred.
     Even Sega has partnered with them for recent releases instead of putting out their own physical copies in the west, so if you want a copy of the new Sonic Generations remaster, or a copy of any new Persona release, have fun dealing with the greedy bastards and their "limited releases."

     @Iffine god the prototypes stuff is infuriating.
     
     Some of the greedy hoarders (I'm calling them hoarders, these niggers aren't collectors) actively refuse to sell the prototype they own unless it's to some other like-minded prick who's against scanning the ROM.
     There's tons of fund raisers that aim to buy rare prototypes that get rejected once the seller finds out what their goal is. Scummy as fuck.

     @Kyonko802 @Meemoo This reminds me, this same shit was happening with grading and "collecting" VHS tapes recently. Headlines going around of "your disney VHS tapes could be the next goldmine." RedLetterMedia had a great take on this, which is to say most of these tapes are worthless garbage, especially with advancements in video quality and releases.

     @Kyonko802 @Meemoo Thankfully Citra has been forked and people who actually care about it are working to get more games running on it, but yeah these guys were absolute assholes and retards. I'm amazed the team even lasted so long when they had paywalled and integrated an illegally obtained implementation of Nintendo's network functionality for the switch for an entire day into their emulator, without asking a single question from the guy about where it came from or how it worked. Same for many of their other decisions (discord paywall compatibility updates for leaked games), full of ideas that any passing idiot could say "that'll get you sued."
