     @SuperSnekFriend I don't think I saw arifureta despite liking the books as a fun middle school power fantasy thing. Only time isekai touched on that "stuck in a hellhole, tempted to break but only your grit kept you going" kind of mentality. Only time in jap LNs that seemed to tap into the very real sentiment of isolation and nihilsm you get when you're locked up in a hole

     anyways I'm sure the show sucks bundles of ass

I'm a sucker for the cool message of suffering through and pushing onward, and then finding that the pressure forged your coal-soul into a diamond, and you're swimming in tight snatch

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @SuperSnekFriend First arc was nice where he's stuck in the dungeon surviving by himself, but then he's just stupidly overpowered and not in a fun way.
