     @anime_outdoor I blame the fact that “girl’s too shy to convey her feelings but writes them in yearbook” isn’t a trope in american media for this one.

     When I was a kid my mom made sure to sit down and go page by page on mine, telling me “you never know what’s gonna be in there!”

     Sure enough, there were a few notes, numbers written on there from time to time. WIthout someone to warn you about it you probably think it’s nothing

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @anime_outdoor Should've flipped through the thing at least once but, much like the crushed flower I found in the pages of a schoolgirl's book from 1890 years ago... it wasn't meant to be.

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @anime_outdoor I found numbers in mine years after I graduated, friends and girls I was interested in, and it crushed me that all these people probably thought I had cut contact with them.

     @anime_outdoor Guys like to imagine stories like the one above were a shot at happiness, but most of those “text me over the summer!” notes ended up fizzling out. They go on vacation, or meet someone new while you’re out of town, etc.

     @luithe @anime_outdoor Some, but it hurts less if you’re realistic and realize that even if you missed her “HAGS! Text me” scrawl you probably wouldn’t have done much anyway
