@Wormwood Our family has more than it's fair share, same w/ community. The UMC suburban/rural girls have been shell shocked, esp. in places that diversified too quickly. Most of the protective suburban parents I know have straight forbidden getting jobs for the most part, they see it as risk, discomfort, "not focusing on SCHOOL".
Then their daughter, not having any real ambitions or desires to live alone, just retreats from the scholastic battlefield to winter at home with the family. She has few chances to organically meet any boys, she minimizes her exposure to strangers.
Which is why it's best to just meet good upstanding men & women organically and try to get them to set you two up. Most of us seem to have a "loser" girl in the family, if you get them to exert gentle pressure you can get her to go out maybe once. Be prepared for her to WANT to flake really bad, they have a bad habit of loving the idea of getting out of their comfort zone in the abstract, when it's 2 weeks ahead on the calendar, but then they'll freak out the day-of and try to cancel
But it's funny, it's like girls are discovering male internet use now. They're doing what we did in 2014, and it's ruining them like it ruined us via gooning, gaming, soma-ing away their days

@PapaPole @Wormwood I do this still for fun, but more as a prank since I'm not single these days. When you first talk to a stranger you have to nail the vibe so she doesn't think you're flirting, because she gets guarded, and has to panic and grab what you just said from echoic memory. The other day I asked a girl in the aisle if "these things were always this expensive" and it took her a solid 8 seconds of blankly staring to actually answer me, it threw her off THAT much having a stranger engage.
Just act like she's the weird one, be cool and they can sometimes ease up. Or just do my old standby and meet them excitedly and pretend you're totally mistaken and embarrassed when you realize you got the wrong person

Everyone has different measures of what they want, but low-spec would be a girl who sleeps in 'til 1 pm and spends the whole day watching netflix. The girl who is "tired" all the time, a total drag on your life

@J @Wormwood Get her in your habitat, then watch how the suicidal silliness melts away. Proper care and feeding, it really does a whole lot to get them running smoothly. The depression is usually rooted in them feeling unsafe, incapable of being happy because she doesn't see a roadmap to joy. Once she's under your sheltering, loving (but not simping!) wings she'll come into her own
Just having a nest is huge for women, like having a nest box for your hens.

A little messy but that’s because she has lots of hobbies and is stuck in a tiny room in her dad’s house. 135 IQ, and is only suicidal once a month ^_^

@WashedOutGundamPilot @Wormwood I don’t think so, she has an actual medical condition that affects her hormones and stuff so it’s beyond control, but it’s nothing I can’t manage. She’s better than my mom.
I was originally going to move her in 2 weeks from now but something came up and now that’s probably not possible, we have to wait until next year. Sucks because we met online and it’s long distance.
We strayed a bit from the point, being that you really can find wife material online, you just have to look in girlish spaces.

@J @Wormwood FWIW it may not be quite what they presented it as. We thought mine had PCOS because of what her old doctor told her, then when we popped the hood on her it turns out they never really tried to figure out what was up with her.
I would treat her a bit like a used car & maintenance: You don't know who did the work, so you can hold it somewhat suspect until she's under your care and then know you're doing it well and getting a correct DX.

It's a win/win for her, she literally improves her life and social standing in every way, all for the cost of....maybe doing some chores, and loving her man? Easier than a day job.
