     Thankfully the internals aren't too damaged. I'm grabbing some spare parts to help my roommate repair another MacBook.

     (And also checking to be sure these batteries aren't compromised)

     I didn't take as many pictures as usual (since they all had my pajamas as a background, instead of my normal beige desk) but I fully disassembled it. Batteries can be recycled, most parts came out cleanly so they can be used as spare parts to fix some of the other MacBooks around here

     @foone On the one hand, I cannot comprehend the carelessness that would result in that kind of damage.

     My other hand, however, failed to hold onto the neoprene sleeve wrapped around my PowerBook G4 when I slipped on a patch of ice during a bitterly cold mid-2000s Pennsylvania winter. My tailbone eventually healed from the fall; the TiBook’s flimsy aluminum hinges did not.

     So yeah, stuff happens. Good luck with the repair.

     @mjgardner yeah I'd love to know what cause this. Car door, maybe?

     But I'm not repairing anything here: I'm just yanking some undamaged parts to hopefully use to repair another MacBook someday
