I made a sweet bechamel sauced with stevia to replace the sugar; well instead of refined glucose it's lactose and stevia, anyway.
The thing is that the typical amount of bechamel is around 50g of flour, 50g of butter and 60cl of milk, then you reduce the whole thing to a slight thick paste, I went further and reduced it but it wasn't enough, when I added the apple sauce it was too liquid and even after baking it's still to liquid.
And I have added five more diced apple in it.
It's not good.
Next time I'll do a small sweet bechamel with apple sauce and more diced apples.
Also I need to make better crust,I haven't done any in years, usually with my fam we bough big rolls for work since it saved us so much time.- Woggy's Zeonic Frolicks likes this.

I know it's a waste, because I don't WANT to eat it, but I'm curious about how convincing it is. People on here talked about the history of super cheap depression pie and it stuck with me.
Also "Chess Pie" and "Water Pie" just fascinate me. I'm talking it up to all the bakers I know in the hopes one will do the experiment on my behalf
