     @TrevorGoodchild That of course is true. However Concord went well beyond that error, having nothing but awkward, disturbing designs.
     
     Appealing characters come in many forms. Take my example: Bugs Bunny is fun to look at. Charles Schulz emphasized this when discussing the appeal of Peanuts. At its base doing non-photorealistic designs is doing fun or funny pictures. Even a rascal like Bugs has to be likable or the whole thing falls apart.
     
     Same for a sad sack like Charlie Brown.
