@hellhammer666 He's right though, you are a literal computer terminal to Ion. It comes up in Ar nosurge as well. However, the target demographic of these games are men so simply using he to refer to the player would make the most sense.
Fuck the feelings of the trannies. Trust me, an actual woman who plays this doesn't give a shit. Only trannies do.
My issue with using the tranny approved they/them shit is that its confusing as hell because you are always unsure if the person who is talking is referring to YOU directly, the group you are with or another group all together.
Sadly this issue does tend to get lost the whole discussion more often than not just devolves in people flinging shit at each other.

@Suzu @LoliHat @hellhammer666 It's more like how if you chat with someone online and don't know the gender of the person you are chatting with, your mind fills in the blank depending on how someone speaks.
The tricky thing with the game that the player doesn't have a name, you're just (you) and it's sort of left intentionally ambiguous what you are. A Japanese player confirmed the game is made with both genders in mind.
The thing is, you simply can't this pull it off elegantly in english. No matter how hard their trying to force they as a singular pronoun.

>then the correct pronouns would be "it/its", which are the pronouns used for non-human stuff.
It's also fine to call a male animal a "he" or a female animal a "she", particularly for a pet.
Also, it generally acceptable to "gender" an object that you ascribe male or female quality, such as for example, referring to your gun you've named "Becky" as a her.
-
@LoliHat @Tamamo @hellhammer666 oh, absolutely, I was going to mention the "personifying objects" thing, but didn't want to extend and make things confusing.
The point is that the norm is using "it" for objects and animals, so if the justification for the "gender ambiguous" thing is because the player character is a domestic appliance, "they/them" is not the right way to do it.
-
@Tamamo @hellhammer666 here's my take:
Considering the player character is a computer terminal with a lens, and it's (correctly) seen as a machine by the game characters, then the correct pronouns would be "it/its", which are the pronouns used for non-human stuff. People don't call their phones "they".
Using "they/them" pronouns for the player character using this excuse reeks of faggot shit and ESG/DEI values.

And here he goes again. :hinata_acid:
