   We are not talking about minor disagreements here. We are talking things are great importance, the difference including the eternal state of one's spirit.
   
   Think of it like this, even with non-religious or non-political like with non-pedo loli stuff, you have one group close by that unironically and genuinely wants to throw loli posters into wood chippers, put them along the wall and shoot them, or dox them, secretly, and go and beat them up.
   
   Should you hang around those people? You should befriend them because you agree with them or like them with other topics? Should you even "follow" them as if they were mere e-neighbors. I don't think I would, and a person shouldn't if he is committed to the truth and honesty. That's stupid to chum it up with people who hate you and will kill you in real life for one thing alone but act nice all other times.
   
   "A worthless person, a wicked man, goes about with crooked speech,
   winks with his eyes, signals with his feet, points with his finger,
   with perverted heart devises evil, continually sowing discord..." (Prov. 6:12-14)
   
   The same principle applies to those other important matters. If many Cathodox fags act like faggots and wish the Inquisition was back to burn people like me at the stake and even going as far as celebrating persecution of Protestants, like the case of Putin and Ukrainian protestants int eh Donbas, If the Cathodox faggots constantly bully for a very important matter near and dear to me and others, should I treat them like some normal neighbor with much in common? I don't think so.
   
   If I, being ShalltearStan, Platinum, Branman, me, or someone else cannot accomplish with half of the people on this side of Fediverse what good is it to stay on it?
   
   That's the problem.

     I don't root for the persecution of Protestants, and don't really have a problem with anyone who genuinely tries to be a follower of Christ, even if we disagree.

     With what has happened, not just the past two days, but with a lot of relationships that have one soured, I think I know why ShalltearStan @sharutiaburaddofouren left the Fediverse.
     
     He's not coming back and he shouldn't.

     @SuperSnekFriend not sure what this is about, but it’s just fedi being fedi. We aren’t all going to agree 1:1 on things so people should be more accepting of each other or at least not judge each other harshly based on an internet fights. We all have stakes in our eyes and shouldn’t point out the specks in others’ eyes ifyouknowhatimean :anko_pray: . It does feel like there is less camaraderie and fwenship on fedi at times, and arguments can get so heated over the littlest of things. I think everyone is under a lot of stress in their real lives and at times it can come out in mean ways to people we like online. :BlobCatHeart:

     @SuperSnekFriend I think we can find people who agree enough with each other around here or at least treat others well as people while in debates, I didn’t imply to be friendly with outright mean people or belligerent people. I’ve been in many threads where the other dude seemed hellbent on just being mean. I guess we can just hope the good we put out and how we treat others nicely is eventually reciprocated by enough people that the ones that don’t like you are inconsequential to your experiences here. There’s a lot more people on fedi than the ones that are arguing with you. :pepesad:

     @PurpCat @SuperSnekFriend @coolboymew @RehnSturm256 Honestly, before Poast came along, what united this side of the fedi was the value of decentralization and wanting to get away from big tech. Other than that, there wasn't that much drama between users, outside of the Mastodon NetworkTM side that blocks anyone that is on some fediblock list on GitHub. I had people from all backgrounds following me, anime-avatar Nazis, libertarians, conservatives, conspiracy theorists, tech enthusiasts, and people who just hated big tech but were otherwise "normies".

     I think the problem with most of the Poastoids is that they have the mentality that any community they participate in should be their own echo-chambers. Now you got these people gatekeeping something that isn't even theirs, and the fediverse is even more fractured than ever.

     Nostr seems to be more like pre-2021 fedi. That's probably why Alex Gleason seems to have favored it over fedi now. There are still a lot of people who constantly talk about how Bitcoin is going to save the world, but if you can get past that, it's pretty laid-back. And the way it operates means that users are forced to judge other users on an individual basis instead of blocking entire instances.
