Re: culinary art can be political
This actually reminded me of the last three seasons of Iron Chef that got quite political. The third Japanese Iron Chef was Japanese but picked up Western styles and made his career with it. As a result, his "neo-Japanese" cuisine came under fire from the Japanese traditionalists. They even dedicated several episodes to the reactionary chefs attempting to take him down.
