   I just discovered there are azur lane TCGs and they come signed and it really hits that cubicle deco vibe for me and I want them but I will desist. It's a simple thing, just the art, but a holographic laffey w/ gold sharpie signature is cute. Hundreds on the open market, supposedly. Maybe I should get a paypal loan for one of these tiddy pics and pay $80/mo for the next 3 years

     @anime_outdoor IDK if I mentioned it before but I know a guy whose dad is collecting these, didn't even know they were from a thing. IIRC he calls them all "narutos"

     @Witch_Hunter_Siegfired The most recent booster was from the camelot movie, I guess. It's just so smart and low-effort, I'm embarassed to fall for it.

     But the whole "shiny signed thingy w/ hot girl" tactic really works on me in a shameful way. It's fun having them in your office and having people see it and find out that card is worth $1,000

     but that's how this marketing works today. Geez, $1,000 is wild, but at least the company doesn't print a glut of them. It's no fun getting in on a hobby where there's no demand

     @dassauerkraut I'll stay my hand, not worth a special order. If it were a couple bucks on amazon then it would be a nice round out to the order but nobody is trustworthy on there so....

     She'll probably get 'them for my bday if I had to guess. I think I need new socks more. It is fun knowing there's a pan-fandom collectible out there in one single format though. This guy just randomly grabbed a booster and won, that's the fun of collecto gambling

     @WashedOutGundamPilot Yeah the signs run high, most cases see 2-3 random ones, which makes them rare to have. If you just want cards to play with, when sets first drop you can get on the global on NA facebook groups and find people selling playset 4-of sets for $250-300 on release. Won't have any of the special shiny stuff, but even the Rs and RRs you'd get have nice foiling.
     (I know recommending facebook of all things, but that and discord are where most weiss players congregate and buy/sell.)

     @NotImportant @anime_outdoor Impulsive, rich, likes to buy things. The guy likes collecting IWC watches, and he tells his kid that omegas are "cheap". His sense of scale is messed up, so two hundred dollars just isn't enough to raise an eyebrow. Probably gets it recommended in his usual die cast model stuff, he's collected those cool WWII kits forever so he probably just stumbled on a listing for the 'HMS Formidable" when he was looking for a naval kit

     Shopaholics live in a different world (usually debt)
