Woggy's Zeonic Frolicks (washedoutgundampilot@poa.st)'s status on Thursday, 09-Mar-2023 04:33:03 JST Woggy's Zeonic Frolicks @merchantHelios Probably not, but I haven’t played too many. They’ll have passable elements but nothing lasting. Stuff like zeonic front was cool-ish, but not quality enough to recommend.
The only one I would go back and play more is the 2d fighting game

Gelert (gelert@poa.st)'s status on Thursday, 09-Mar-2023 05:31:31 JST Gelert @merchantHelios @WashedOutGundamPilot I remember having fun with Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire (I think that's its name, seems like it from the wiki) after playing Armoured core: For answer for all it was worth (really wish I could emulate that). You command a squad for either a Zeon or the Federation campaign during the one year war. Kinda like a Mechwarrior type game allowing you to go from GMs and Zaku 1s all the way to the mass produced Gundams and I think Goufs.
Pretty cheap production but it does well at making you feel the weight and unwieldiness of the Mobile suits without the awful clunky controls of early Armoured Core.
Gundam Evolution is a pretty fun 5v5 arena shooter, though, I only ever play the ranged Zaku II in it with Goku's English VA as my pilot voice.Woggy's Zeonic Frolicks likes this. -

It was always cool in some aspects, always clunky and real, but hollow. Not many enemies, the actual gameplay was lackluster, and it always came off like a C- to armored core’s B’s

Gelert (gelert@poa.st)'s status on Thursday, 09-Mar-2023 05:50:34 JST Gelert @WashedOutGundamPilot @merchantHelios Definitely, there is the potential for a truly good, gritty and tactically engaging one year war game floating in the aether that could compete with Armoured Core and MechWarrior, there was just never the talent and recourses dedicated to it.
All the elements are there:
>bulky mechs requiring forethought for positioning and savvy use of recourses.
>Modular damage effecting playstyle throughout a mission/campaign as more parts accrue damage or are destroyed.
>Range of models and loadouts allowing for different playstyles between assault, stand-off firepower, and manoeuvrability.
>Battlefields spanning every terrain around the world +the option for extra-terrestrial battles.
>Context of the entire Gundam UC universe adding great depth to the world story that the player could be thrown into.Woggy's Zeonic Frolicks likes this. -

They actually made that for the American market to shill G Gundam. Here it is on cdromance if you want to play it. Play arcade mode on hard if you want to get the other characters. If you want to unlock Psyco Gundam Mk.III, you have to do boss rush in X amount of time. Because Psyco can guard, just play as Devil Gundam, or Dark Gundam as it is called here, and spam beam attack.
The excluded characters from the first game are accessible by GameShark.

MemeLandfill (memelandfill@poa.st)'s status on Thursday, 09-Mar-2023 12:09:38 JST MemeLandfill @Skringot @WashedOutGundamPilot @merchantHelios they could have shared the success that the dbz games had in the west, but they fucked around with gundam seed and then just nearly completely stopped selling us anything. I would have bought gundam battle assault 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 over anything else fighting related, but that never came to pass. Woggy's Zeonic Frolicks likes this. -

Beam attacks are totally unblockable. All you have to do to evade Devil's across the screen unblockable is fly. It has enough startup. It's perfect cheese against AI though or anyone unfamiliar.
Hydra Gundam though... doesn't care at all. Hydra can block ALL projectiles and unblockable beam attacks and receive no chip damage.
RX-78 has 2 unblockables. The standard input for a swing and a down>back input for a downwards thrust, which can be used to hit downed opponents. If you use it in air, he thrusts out the beam javelin but the hitbox is different.Woggy's Zeonic Frolicks likes this.
