What happened to chudbuds?

I hope she didn't...

@Jim claire thinks she was hacked. someone got root access to the server and dumped the database. change your passwords a sap poa.st/objects/e0d3d40f-bb91-446e-8e79-c9dad921ab75

@graf @Jim
Any idea how this happened? Seems like maybe weak root password or inside job to get that level of access. If it was a VPS, it would use a key instead of a password so ...... was it self-hosted with ssh accessible ?
-
@verita84 @Jim she thinks they got access to her desktop so I think RAT. apparently she installed something minecraft recently. asked her if she installed it from a link somebody sent to her but no reply yet
if they got access to her desktop they could have just about anything including financial shit for chudbuds

@graf @verita84 @Jim I've been too paranoid to do anything that connects to me for awhile now, I just have VPSes for normie stuff that's not sensitive
I have good enough internet to self host at home but I've never gotten around to setting up a reverse proxy
-
@verita84 @graf @Jim every VPS I've ever had just gave me a root password and it was up to me to secure the server
it only takes a couple minutes but you have to know what to do and what's important

@deprecated_ii @verita84 @Jim any vps you rent can have its running memory dumped to a file at any point in time. the 'cloud is just someone elses server' is real, dont trust shit on a VPS
