JulioReich (julioreich@poa.st)'s status on Friday, 02-Aug-2024 07:20:22 JST JulioReich @SpurgAnon Why would I want to pay monthly for theoretically unlimited mice when I could just chuck them and buy a new mouse when they break? The current system is a win-win, mouse companies get the full price for the product and the world gets more e-waste. xianc78 likes this. -

xianc78@gameliberty.club's status on Tuesday, 06-Aug-2024 02:57:52 JST xianc78 @beardalaxy @SpurgAnon I'm using a wireless logitech mouse right now because I currently have nothing else. The only good thing about this mouse is that there are no side buttons. I hate side buttons because I can easily drop my mouse and accidentally click one of them.
I honestly don't like either Logitech or Razer. Razer has put always-online DRM on some of their mice in the past, so they might consider doing this subscription service practice as well.
It's about time that people not only switch to open-source software, but open-source hardware as well. People underestimate the dangers of hardware backdoors and how they are even worse than software backdoors. However, the only Linux hardware manufacturer I know of that sells mice is ThinkPenguin.

xianc78@gameliberty.club's status on Tuesday, 06-Aug-2024 03:38:32 JST xianc78 @beardalaxy @SpurgAnon I find them an annoyance for laptop users, especially if you are using your laptop in bed where you are more likely to drop your mouse. I also have twitchy fingers so I'm more likely to accidentally hit buttons because my muscles just decide to involuntary contract.
