   I miss old YouTube comments.
   
   You watch a funny video from 2008 and all the comments are "wow that was hilarious! xD keep up the good work" or something of that nature. Just pure, honest thoughts.
   
   Now it's a clout-chasing cringefest. Everyone's using the comment section to make witty meme captions out of someone else's video. For example, that "Nobody: Absolutely nobody:" shit.
   
   If it weren't for political discourse, I would just say remove comments from the platform entirely. Or perhaps remove the ability to like comments and sort by popularity. We don't need teenagers getting delusions of grandeur because their comment got hearted by MrBeast.
