     @sun @p Turns out paid membership for an instance that only has a custom theme going in was never going to be sustainable in the realm of a bunch of nerds with optiplexes under bed that are eager to just have someone else posting on their instance free of charge.

     @mint @p that is not why it charged, it was never profitable or meant to be. the fee was to filter membership a little. I don't want to speak for mathilde why the decision was made to stop but my perception is that the outcome just didn't live up to expectations and it was time to try some new things. sometimes that happens.
