The push for self-love goes further. Modern culture at it's finest.

@flux @verita84 Selena may have been cute a decade+ ago, but these days she looks like an overweight 5. In a bar, without a name tag and professional makeup, nobody would know she's "famous". But of course she wouldn't want to marry some average joe.

@Bro-Drillard @flux @verita84 Pic related. This is gonna happen to a shitton of millennial women
-
@flux
Oh it is. It's probably hard to marry when you are in Holly wood because you can't live like a normal person and truly find someone good that easily.
-
i have a hard time buying that. if she truly wanted to be married to a good man and be happy she's in a better position than 99.999999% of western women to do just that. sure her celebrity does add some layers of extra complexity to the problem of finding a husband but she has a thousand other things going for her that the vast overwhelming majority of women don't. the truth is that she's making a conscious choice to be single and miserable because being single and miserable places no expectations on her, and it will likely only get worse for her from here. have you seen madonna lately? that's where these women end up.
-
i think "marrying yourself" just might be the ultimate expression of pathological narcissistic celebrity nonsense. i hope she dies alone and unloved.
-
even when she was cute or whatever how much of it was just being young/fertile + lighting and makeup
-
yeah i should clarify that it won't only be celebrities that this happens to. a gigafuckton of women are going to go through the same mental, emotional, and spiritual anguish as selena gomez and brittany spears and madonna and they won't even have the social prestige to show for it or provide them comfort. liberal feminist empowerment ideology is a fucking meat grinder for women.
